like i said, if you can go 3-4 feet , I think you should.. there is this stuff they sell at nurseries in huge BAGS... it is "soil conditioner" and it will even say on the bag that it is for mixing with clay...

BUT!!!! you don't want to mix this stuff with clay..... you dig a hole and the clay you dig out, you LEAVE OUT!! : )

You fill the hole with soil, chicken shit, and this conditioner, and if you are goiing to be around to water.. I would use a lot of perlite as well..

you won't be digging soil out... correct? you will be digging clay... correct?
