Hey Bluntman if you plan on growing MJ you could just buy big plant pots i have 1 it will grow a huge plant ill post a pic of it but if your gonna put 5 seeds in that 4 fott hole you got to dig it another 4 feet longer so that there is aprox 2 feet between each plant so that the plants arent fighting for soil bigger plants will grow tall and the other 3 plants will get blocked from light by the bigger plant and they wont grow so allow alot of space . start the seeds inside your home use 2 liter pop bottles 1 plant a bottle just cut the top off the bottle fill the drit right to the top of the bottle you want the roots to grow deep in the bottle so that when you take it outside it will have the strengh to live.

I saw this plant in high times a while back that the grower report getting 8 pounds off of. She was a monster. I grow in 22 gallon containers and get 6 foot plus diameter plants at 6 foot high.

I heard that a good ratio is 1 gallon of soil for each cubic foot of plant...

If you try to grow in just clay you plants will do bad. Clay particles are so small they pack together tightly and leave little room for water, air or roots. If you have woods get the dark top layer soil from there... If it has leaves make sure they are shredded they are a good soil conditioner and when they breakdown they are a source of nitrogen.
