Show me your???????mmmmmmmyeahWell I put MandrakeLinux 10.1 on a new hard drive and here is a screenshot of my GUI (KDE 3.2). I'm a Linux n00b but I'm already a big fan of it and this is very easy to use. I wish I would have done it sooner.

Show me your???????mmmmmmmyeahWell currently I'm dual booting. I did it the safest way, which is to install a separate hard drive specifically for Linux and another hard drive specifically for Windows. You can however partion one hard drive that has xp installed on it and make room specifically for your linux distribution. This option is a little risky because if things go wrong you may lose all the information that was previously installed on it so if your going to attempt this be sure to backup your hard drive beforehand. My linux distribution (Mandrake 10.1) can be downloaded for free at http://www.mandrakelinux.com There are other options to consider if your looking to running linux for example there are distributions that can run from one bootable cd-rom with no required installation for example there is a product like this from mandrake that is called Mandrake-Move. I haven't personally tried it, but all you do is place the cd in your drive and configure your BIOS to boot from your cd-rom.
