Parents who smoke?

I've got a weird question for y'all, and I hope I won't offend anyone with it.

I really enjoy herb, but not so much that I couldn't stop, which I did the minute I discovered I was pregnant. But now that baby Jeff is out and about, I found myself pondering if I would start smoking weed again. My first thought was what might be expected from someone raised in a conservative southern family - "It's completely morally irreprehensible! You're a parent!". However, I've known a few families in which the parents smoked, and it didn't seem to cause any problems or drama with the kids, although granted in some cases the kids didn't know what their folks were doing.

Just to be clear, I'm not thinking about starting up right away, or even within the next couple years. Still, I'm currious if anyone here is a parent who smokes, or the kid of a smoker, and how it worked out for y'all. Was it awesome, or did it completely ruin things?

I apologize as I know that this is a sensitive question, but I'd be most greatful for any input or experiences.

My Mum smokes but not often at all, didn't lead to me to a life of drugs, booze and cheap women if thats what you mean.

It was nice to know that she wouldn't really be bothered if I was stoned but I think that there still has to be limit, like you wouldn't want your kids getting drunk every night.

I still wouldn't recomend smoking round your kids untill they're of a responsible age.

My uncle smokes weed and his kid is like a 16 year old prodigy in baseball, and he has a great job and so does his wife, they drive to montreal every week for his games. He has a couple other daughters to.
I smoke weed with him when I visit, he gave me some uncle weed last time I visited 0.o Its so amazing, old people get teh best weed.
But I was thinking, if you enjoy it, then you probably can more freely now then in the future, I mean, the kids basically not gonna remember anything that happens outside of 5 feet from him, and then only for like 10 seconds before he sees something shiny anyways. So yeah, I personally think it can be a good thing, I wish my own father was smoking weed rather then taking oxycodone/contin for back pain and inflamation. Plus hed be alot more fun hey dad wanna get high and order a pizza? beats the shit out of arguing and cutting out coupons and whatever else it is that old people do when you let them up and about their business.

my dad used to smoke, some of my moms friends smoke they have kids. a friend of mines mother smokes...actually ive smoked with her....my advice is be much more subtle about your smoking habbits now that u have a kid.

i smoked with my mom and i dont rly get along with it but im not sure if weed had anything to do with it

life with my dad now and he lets me smoke and as long as i dont do no dumb shit like any other drugs or drink hes cool

Neither one of my parents would consider smoking weed and here i am on cannabis.com. And its nobody's business but your own on how u raise your kids. Just let them know the positiive AND the negative sides of smoking weed.

Thanks so much y'all for your responses! It's good to know that so many people have had positive experiences with family members who smoke. For the time being I'm not going to, but that's simply because I'm breastfeeding and have read conflicting data on if the amount of THC in the milk is significant. I'd rather be safe than sorry, ya know?

(On the other hand, after being cut open like an animal, a joint sure sounds good - anyone here who's had abdominal surgery will know my pain. I've always found MJ to be far more effective at managing pain than perscriptin drugs.)

I'm not concerned about MJ being a gateway drug or anything of that nature. I just was currious about it's effects on familial relationships, and y'all have been too kind in helping me out.
