Can i use aluminium foil to reflect the light of my growroom and if yes do i use the dull side or the shiny side? what's the OLH (optimum light height) of a 250W HPS? and thirdly how much bicarbonate of soda to vinegar should i put to produce half a cubic foot of CO2?

Aluminum creates hot spots, not very good for reflectin light......try some mylar.

im in senegal, i searched everywhere here and i could not find any mylar. is there then anything else i could use since painting the walls flat white is not an option. what about the shiny side of the gift wrap?

You can order some online, not expensive.

just use tinfoil. It reflects not quite as well as mylar but still reflects, lots of people use foil with no problems

The dull side of aluminum foil has been used by some growers with great success. The thickness allows you to easily wrap pots, cords, and anything else that eats light very easily.
I use the shiny side for "booster seats" under my plants...I wrap books in foil to raise the height of shorter plants toward the lights.
One of my two grow room doors has the dull side of aluminum foil and the lower buds lay right against it and are very happy.

tin foil also causes hotspots and is not a "good" source of reflection for the plants. Please do yourself a favor and order some mylar.

Aluminum foil was a dirty word when I first came here. Now it seems that a lot more people have been using it than will admit. I've had great success using the dull side. I ran my Minolta Auto Meter IIIF light meter along both of my grow room doors--one mylar and one foil--and had identical readings.

Not saying it's right or wrong; just my experience.
