I certainly agree with that. It's very easy to say, "Fuck the police" but it's completely irrational. You need police, they're crucial for order to remain in place. Unfortunately, there's a few sour apples in every basket, as aforementioned by Raider, so I would take some sort of action but only against that particular officer (if possible, that is), don't just establish a hatred for police.

First, I'd recommend taking pictures or something so if you do end up taking this thing to court, you have pictures of your bruises and injuries. You don't want to show up saying you had bruises, you know?

Second, if possible, try to find out which officer actually did this and see what you can do from there-- there was no mention in your story of him reading you your Miranda Rights, so right off the bat there's a constitutional violation.

Third, understand that there's little you can do to right the police's wrong. You can sue this police department individually but that won't do anything to make sure these things won't happen. At best, become a cop and go out of your way to be merciful and leniant when the conditions apply (like pot possession ) but something to consider-- only SOME cops deserve Chinese torture.

(Of course, these are things you'll only be able to put into perspective once you've blown off some steam. There's no way such an event can happen without feeling raped of your rights-- so, breathe, spark a fat ass bowl, and whatever you do, don't go supporting stupid things like anarchy, as somebody suggested earlier.)
