I'm an old-fashioned values type, born and raised in the conservative parts of Texas, and went to a conservative Christian church.

It's a proven fact, that in most instances, sex shows attract alot of bad characters, that begin bringing communities down to their debaucherous level-as well as lead to greater incidences of STD's and the spread of aids/hiv. Why should our children be exposed to all of that-just for the sake of allowing sexually obsessive people to insert their ugly world into a good and peaceful community ?

Not so, Torog. It's because of such a taboo about things like sex shows. That means all th hard-working honest citizens dont go because they're afraid of being marked as some pervert.
It's the "bad" people that dont care and go, which gives the image that only "bad" people go to such things. Its akin to politicians advocating reforms on pot laws. Noone will touch it because they dont want to be viewed as a stoner who smokes bongs all day.
If more "good" people went to the sex shows, then im quite sure they wouldnt tolerate bullshit from some weirdo in the corner.

This is my country too and I'll be danged if I have to be ashamed to walk down the street with my children..this ain't an adults-only world..the children have to live here too.

Here in Toronto, the downtown area we pretty much have a porno store on every corner with big signs advertising whats inside...it's on yonge street right before you hit the Toronto Hemp Company and the theatre where they play the Vagina Monologues...amazingly though, the society hasnt crumbled, the gangs stay in the bad part of town and children walk about completely carefree in their innocence... but hey, that's just what happens in the real world...i suppose there's something in the drinking water that makes americans so different.

    Have a good one ....
You have a good one too, torog.

You might call it "Vinny's Deli and Sex Act Cabaret," or "Miss Sally's Spa and Kama Sutra Emporium." That's because the Oregon Supreme Court recently ruled 5 to 1 that telling a business it cannot have a live sexual exposition on its premises is a violation of freedom of expression under the Oregon Rating: 5

hey torog, Try another source for your info, don't discredit it just because it came from a "LIBERAL" source, one would think you could take info from both sides then use a freethinking mind to draw conclusions. I worked with a whole bunch of refinery workers never once did I hear any praying in the job shack, I did see em all heading for the canadian border and the ladner arms, you ever boom out or wouldn't your old lady let you?just kidding, mike I.W. local 86

    Hey Torag

I havent been on this site for a month or two and I am glad to see you are still the most bull headed individual I have ever read.... Why cant you just let people live, in amsterdam you can find whatever you are looking for and in your backwards town also, so regulating moral behavior just does not work any where you need to open your mind a bit and realize we are not all the same

just live and let live brother

We should have legal brothels in the United States. Amsterdam, when I was there, had a "red light" district. We've had them in the U.S., and still do - in parts of Nevada. Although I have no kids, I understand the parents' desire to shield young children from exposure to the sex trade. The best way to do this is legalization, licensing and health department inspection certifications. Itâ??s safer for the customers, and the girls, also.

I'm Torogs daughter and I was never "repressed". I never rebelled, never had a reason to. I do, however, happen to agree that sex in public is just..well..gross to say the least and it reduces us to animals. We are living in civilization, in society, not the wilderness. I would like to think that humans are more civilized and have more control over their primal urges than animals.

What the politicians and law makers do not understand is that people are basically responsible and things like these take care of them selves like neighbors being dicks to them and other businesses shunning them cuase businesses can refuse service to people if they want. We don't need all these laws and laws like these lead down a very slippery path concerning are freedoms to be who we want and do what we want. Conformity is not neccessary.

i dont see why we should be more conservative so some guy doesnt get embarassed to walk downtown with his daughter. seems like it'd be easier for dude to get over some issues and let people be free.
