Ive seen people go on month long binges, only to stop cold turkey one day when they felt like it. as lateralus said, its about self control. Coke IS crack. Same drug, different method of use. Cocaines major factor in addictiveness is that its such an enjoyable drug, that its is psycholigacally adictive more than physically. Dont believe me? Well thats because your brainwashed by the same commercials saying that weed gets you pregnant. Even its tolerance isn't that bad, according to most government studies, you build a tolerance up to a point, then it evens out. As in, say your tolerance goes up to half a gram for a dose at a month of heavy use (very high dose btw), 2 years later with heavy use your dose will most likely still be half a gram. As far as "hard" drugs go, its one of the safer ones. Peoples irresponsibility and lack of self control is what makes it detrimental to peoples lives.

crack heads dont have forums, they sell their computers for more crack. and drugs arnt bad. as long as you dont go overboard and get hooked or get arrested or end up with a health problem or die they are perfectly fine to experament with. just make sure you know your shit before you try stuff.
