while driving through new mexico I was stopped by border patrol officers (no where close to the border) they asked to searched the vehicle, I refused, they then explained that they were part of "homeland security" and under the patriot act, they needed no reason other than suspicion to search a vehicle. I still refused stating that I did not believe that to be true. I was then detained physically searched. they proceded to search the vehicle for and hour and a half and found nothing. I then was given my belongings and let go. This is the stalin like environment we are living in today. what a great lesson that was, now I know the govt. is the enemy, there far worse then an enemy to go to war with, they have already won, and there is nothing anybody will bother to do.
