I'm afraid that's a myth, and it's a very commonly repeated one, too. If you research this thoroughly (or talk to law officers who work in drug enforcement), you'll learn that they can and do lie all the time about this sort of thing. And it's not considered entrapment at all. It's considered a functional part of helping them do their jobs. A means to an end, in other words. This rumor about their not being allowed to lie if you ask them straight out whether they're a cop is a dangerous one, and it's been debunked many hundreds of times in other areas of this site.
