First Time Grower Needs Help with Growroom!!!

first time growing and first time to post...plz help.

growroom dimensions = 150cm/5ft Height x 60cm/2ft Width x 60cm/2ft Length
light specs = 250W HPS

first i need help on making a reflector for my 250W HPs since here in senegal you cannot find reflectors for 250W HPS weirdly enough, you find the bulbs and ballast but not the reflectors. In my total growroom height of 150cm, 30cm is already taken by the pot height and another 30 cm max at the top to maintain the maximum light intensity to the plants. that leaves me with 90cm of usable space. what height should my plants be when i make them flower under the 12/12 regimen to have a final height of 90cm max. and also how many plants can i have in a 60cmx60cm growroom. also does anyone have pictures of a bicarbonate of soda + vinegar CO2 system. all help will be apreciated.. thanx

Alkbud, your description of your grow room is very poor, using centimeters is not needed unless your a gnome.

How many 'plants' do you intend to grow with only a 250w HPS??

You can set your plants desired hight by growing it to your desired hight, although remember this, the plant does its best growing in the start of flowering, therefore grow past your desire so you should minimize it by about 3-4 inchs.

I can see you growing 1 or 2 plants under the 250w HPS, but I dont see more than 5-6.

The reflecter is simple enough, you can use any kind of home appliance you have, you dont simply need a glass mirror thats curved. You can use simply a piece of cardboard with boards on the back to keep er steady and mylar it. You could also bend the cardboard if you want to put it around the top of your light.

senegal... wow... don't mind the criticism from people around here. All that matters is that you are growing!

If you browse around this grow chat room you will see some real shallow gardens that are very very succesful.. You could grow 6 plants in a very shallow container - 24inches x 24inches x 10inches (high). You will need to make sure your plants are female before you start... this way you can flower them with confidence when they are 8-10inches tall.

using centimeters has nothing to do with being a gnome. In case you are too ignorent to know it is only you americans and english that actually use inches, the rest of the world uses the metric system, therefore centimeters are part of the metric system....

i work with what i have... if in senegal the highest power of HPS lamps is 250W then i work with that.. if your not happy then just send me some with higher capacities....

thanx for the help but i gotta ask you one or 2 more questions.. What is the OLH (optimum light height) of a 250W HPS noting the fact that i will not have any ventilation taking the air out of the room. will put a coupla fans to keep the heat down and was planning on using CO2 supplementation since it helps the plant tolerate higher heat.

First off, you don't have to start every post with "massage to.."

Secondly, the International System of Units is based on the metric system.. so really it's all the same thing..no need for the ignorance comment.

And lastly.. you plan to have a 250watt hps with no ventilation and you want to add CO2?? I don't recommend this...and you should probably read into CO2 before you impliment it into such a small space...
