those new orleans cops who beat the crap out of that old guy...

did anyone else see the video from new orleans of the cops beating the shit out of that old guy...wow, soviet/nazi america thrown right in our faces...and these fuckheads plead not guilty...

new orleans police in a google search will yield a lot of info on this...

wait until martial law is declared around the country (to protect our freedom that the terrorists hate) and people start rioting...then we'll see the real plans of those in power...

newsflash, IT'S NOT A CRIME TO BE A NEWS PRODUCER OR HAVE A VIDEO CAMERA IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...

those cops should each get at least 10 years in prison, or at least no chance of probation for 10 years...

New Orleans officers plead not guilty
NEW ORLEANS (AP) â?? Three New Orleans police officers pleaded not guilty Monday to battery charges based on a videotape showing two patrolmen repeatedly punching a 64-year-old man accused of public intoxication and a third officer grabbing and shoving an Associated Press Television News producer who helped capture the confrontation on tape.

Two officers repeatedly punched Davis.http://images.usatoday.com/_common/_images/clear.gifBy Mel Evans, AP
After a brief hearing, at which trial was set for Jan. 11, the officers were released on bond. They quickly left in cars without commenting.

They were suspended without pay Sunday, police spokesman Marlon Defillo said. The police promised a criminal investigation.

"It's a troubling tape, no doubt about it," Defillo said.

The confrontations come as the department â?? long plagued by allegations of brutality and corruption â?? struggles with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the resignation last month of Police Superintendent Eddie Compass.

The APTN tape shows an officer hitting the suspect, Robert Davis, at least four times in the head Saturday night outside a French Quarter bar. Davis appeared to resist, twisting and flailing as he was dragged to the ground by four officers. (Related video: Beating caught on tape)

Another of the officers then kneed Davis and punched him twice. Davis was face-down on the sidewalk with blood streaming down his arm and into the gutter.

Then a fifth officer ordered APTN producer Rich Matthews and the cameraman to stop recording. When Matthews held up his credentials, the officer grabbed the producer, leaned him backward over a car, jabbed him in the stomach and unleashed a profanity-laced tirade.

"I've been here for six weeks trying to keep ... alive. ... Go home!" shouted the officer, who identified himself as S.M. Smith.

In addition to Smith, the other officers charged were identified as Lance Schilling and Robert Evangelist. Smith is an eight-year veteran of the force, while Evangelist and Schilling have served three years each.

"The incidents taped by our cameraman are extremely troubling," said Mike Silverman, AP's managing editor. "We are heartened that the police department is taking them seriously and promising a thorough investigation."

Police said Davis, of New Orleans, was booked on public intoxication, resisting arrest, battery on a police officer and public intimidation. He was treated at a hospital and released into police custody.

A mug shot of Davis, provided by a jailer, showed him with his right eye swollen shut, an apparent abrasion on the left side of his neck and a cut on his right temple.

Davis, who is black, was subdued at the intersection of Conti and Bourbon streets. Three of the officers appeared to be white, and the other is light skinned. The officer who hit Matthews is white. Defillo said race was not an issue.

Two of the officers in the video appeared to be federal officers. Numerous agencies have sent police to help with patrols in the aftermath of Katrina, and Defillo said it would be up to their commanders to decide if they would face charges.

Under normal circumstances, it takes unusually offensive behavior to trigger an arrest on Bourbon Street. But New Orleans police have been working under stressful conditions since the hurricane. About 300 officers apparently either died, abandoned their posts or disappeared for some other reason.

Those who stayed slept in their cars and worked 24-hour shifts after the storm. Three-quarters lost their homes and their families are scattered across the country.

"Our police officers are working under some very trying times," Defillo said. "So it's a difficult time, but it doesn't excuse what our jobs are supposed to be."

Conditions have improved â?? officers now have beds on a cruise ship â?? but they don't have private rooms and are still working five, 12-hour days.

Compass, the police superintendent, resigned Sept. 27. Despite more than 10 years of reform efforts dating to before he took office, police were dogged by allegations of brutality and corruption.

On Friday, state authorities said they were investigating allegations that New Orleans police broke into a dealership and made off with nearly 200 cars â?? including 41 new Cadillacs â?? as the storm closed in.

The local Jr college has a cop course, I think they call it administration of justice.
If you pass it and don't have a record you are good as gold, phys ed, and cop classes not math not bio and english and computer lit, none of the gen ed, that anyone hoping to move on to a bachelors program who is expected to be a well rounded well adjusted with a solid general ed base. (the whole jump thru hoops and proove your adaptation to society) so phys ed and profiling, some hours writing tickets in school parking lot, ride-along hours with local cops, no phsych test, fingerprints only, you pass heres your diploma 1 yr worth of "school"

who asks the question why do you want this?

who sets I Q standards? we all probably know someone we went to school with who we know is an idiot but has been a cop for years

is 1 year of running track, handcuffing, driving, and being able to show up enough preparation for someone who is making life decisions?

what does power like that do when given to a close minded control freak? we all know

I think they are legislated in to keep the social boundries intact, basically gatekeepers taking reports from the royalty, flipping a bitch as soon as they see a 10 + yr old car, in order to hassle poke around and keep the scurge in its place by ADMINISTERING justice.

pull it all back, stop the funding, quit screwing HUMANS, Here at home in usa, we need food, drink, education/information and healthcare

not congressmen who have stock in hospital chains making 40% of thier income from medicare bill he headed committee on, who then sell the stock a day before the bottom dropped out, saved an est. 7-10 mill with that insider move

not a bunch of people wearing badges pushing morality as they see fit without supervision enforcing something that once was a symbol of our strength, that will soon be rewritten as soon as he can get congress to repeal some of those silly personal freedoms, in order to protect us from the looming enemy.

we dont need police with room temp IQ, old school they used to tell you drive straight home and follow you, now the little fuckers will haul stars to jail, not that im a fan, just an example, you know pour the beer out how old is the girl, Im gonna call your dad in the morning, give me the pot, when did it change and why?

Its changing right now as they do more and more, to keep us away from them, seat-belt check, oh it was in a backpack, stroller, purse, pocket or in the security cell, (me) ok so you want to search me for what? terrorisim I dont have any just my herb I smoke for my back which is legal here now. (cop)oh I am a us marshall, feds say its illegal, hands behind your back, (everytime they serve warrants here in humboldt they bring us marshal in order to fuck with the med mj)

maybe I will turn off the brain watch only network programming, go out and buy an suv a big one, and a big truck for me, work on positive image , get with god, you know just give in to the zombies, al-queeeeeeeda over and over to the tune of braaaiiinnnnsss.

I'm not sure we will see change soon the idiots are breeding in case you havent been reading boards,a University of Chicago study revealed Monday that the nation's uneducated are breeding twice as fast and twice as often as its educated. "The average member of the American underclass spawns at age 15, compared to age 30 for the average college-educated professional," study leader Kenneth Stalls said. "America's intellectual elite, as a result, are badly losing the genetic marathon, with two generations of dullards born for every one generation of cultured literates."

I already have my canadian flag shirt, good luck

Damn, I went to Mardi Gra (sp?) like 10 years ago, and I could have told you the NO PD are incompetent, brutal thugs. Is it only now the rest of the world is realizing this?
\"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will, within limits drawn by the equal rights of others. I do not add \"within the limits of the law\', because law if often but the tyrant\'s will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.\"-Thomas Jefferson.

Maybe they should have used batons, and Maglight flash lights to knock the old guy and the camera person around. Is that brutal enough for you?
