Did the cops ever turn on their lights or try to pursue? Because if not, you didn't lose the cops, you're just paranoid as fuck. And IMHO your friend is a dumbass for running from the cops in the first place.

We smoke and enter the car and then next thing we know there is a cop DIRECTLY behind us. It's lights aren't on so we start pulling out. The cop car then beings to follow us and then my friend Russ DIPS THE FUCK OUT. He is pushing 60 in a residential neighborhood in a monte carlo. We lost the cops tho, so it was tight. Rating: 5
