Watery lungs

Need some help/advice.

Im new to using a bong on a regular basis. And Im wondering if Im doing something wrong. The hit always seems way too watery, and even if the smoke is smooth inhaling all those water vapors is making me cough and cough until, well, its up, and by "it" I mean "watery mucus". (ewww, gross, I know, sorry. )

Ive tried lowering the water level to damn near the very bottom and taking less abrasive hits, which didnt seem to help much.

Im thinking of just going back to my trusty metal pipe with copper screen if I dont figure this bong thing out. PLus dealing with bong water (which ive never had the displeasure of doing until I got my very own bong) is something I'm ready to never deal with again. Nastiest stuff ever!

If you say its mega smooth but you cough my guess is that your taking to big a rip, personally I find I can take huge rips ona smooth bong, i can suck till i go blue, but if its to big a rip on the exhale i'l cough, so i recon thats what it is just take smaller rips.
Aint ever heard of water vapour making people cough, do you cough when you have a steamy shower?

Never used a proper one, only ever a lung, which is a 2L bottle, cut in half, with a bag taped on the inside, you put a screen of silver foil (aluminium) on the top, put bud on, burn it and pull the bag down, filling it with smoke lol

Its probably cuz I fill my lungs to capacity. Smaller hits mixed with some reg air may help, thanks. Its just going to take me forever to get high now, though.

Im ordering a metal pipe today. Im sure bongs are efficient, but not my bong, I dont think, and I dont feel like spending money to gamble on other bongs. Smaller hits though until my pipe arrives.

I once didn't like bongs cuz and didn't really "get" them, but lately i've learnt there ways and man smoking ( espicially by yourself) is SOOOOOOOOOOOOoooo good with a bong.

That made me think, don't waste money like that, keep going with the bong, smaller hits will still do you in, and you don't need that many hits for it lol
