The "Madman goes Aero" building thread
Thansk but, 1st off, I have pumps from 110gph to 600gph...
2nd you didn't read thread very well because drains are plastic...
and system is not over a bathtub, that was just for a month because of space. It does not leak.
I don't do grow threads anymore, veggies only, I have nothing to prove.
If you ever doubt that any of my DIY systems work...Well, I have this to say If you know what you are doing then you can grow anything you want in any kind of hydro system. I can! peace

wow lol
i sat down for a good 6-8 hours designing a new system for my grow room and it turned out pretty much exactly the same as this lol
i will be starting the build in around a month and will keep u posted.
i was thinking of running a drip to my pots, airstones under each and sprinklers pointing at the roots, is this overkill? will the sprinklers alone be enough?
and i was thinking of using smaller diamiter piping, would this system still run effectivly?
anyway, cheers for providing such a wikad thread, keep up the good work

I am finding that using aero alone is running the risk of sprinklers clogging...It happened to me and caused hermies, but If I had had a closer eye at the time, I might've avoided a problem...As Z says. You cannot see the sprinkler not working! I think if you want to run both drip and sprinklers, it cannot hurt you a bit...I would however watch my rez temps...especially if this idea has you using 2 pumps. As far as 1/2" pvc...people have been using it for years...I like using the 3/4" in with 1/2" irrigation tubing. I haven't tried any 1/2"
Can't wait to see your system

Here is a little experiment I helped a friend of mine build that wanted to grow indoor tomatoes and peppers...in a spare room w/AC...Just 4 piks.
during construction...
I add quick connects now...this makes it so easy to move the rez and dis:thumbsup: assemble.
Nice roots eh
He lied...:smokin: 8-topper

PVC pipe cutters will save you from having to deburr, and it's a lot easier/straighter/faster than a hacksaw, especially if you're eyeballing and trimming down lots of cuts for fit. An irrigation supply store will have a pair for around $10. Lowes has some but their metal ones are $20 or more, and no better. One plastic pair will last forever if it's only used for odd jobs.

<-- an example of the kind I mean.
