magic sphere (i guess it makes a waterbong)

so.. how does this thing work? it looks like this:
it's a bottle with the magic sphere screwed on top. It has two straws that come down and go under the water. i can't figure out how u don't end up with all that water in your mouth.

i'm pretty sure the instructions said that the straws go in the water.
