I'm a vegetarian and all, and I agree with the animal rights movement to a certain degree, but there are some things that really tick me off about PETA. Okay, if you want to argue for animals to be treated as equal to humans, fine, we can disagree and as long as you're not forcing your views on the rest of society, that's all right. But some followers of PETA have used violent tactics and property destruction to further their political goals, and PETA itself has not explicitly condemned violence like it should. PETA says they neither condemn it nor condone it, but they understand it. That is absolutely unacceptable. Violence is not an acceptable means of achieving your political goals, period. Especially when you're constantly bitching about every act of violence committed against any animal (besides humans).

Secondly, they oppose medical testing on animals which is essential to most medical research these days. Without animal testing we would lose most medical progress, and I for one think it's okay to do experiments on a few animals to save a lot of humans. The prospects of saving millions of human lives, to me, are far more important than whether a few lab animals have a pleasant life or not.

Thirdly, they oppose the killing of animals so fervently, yet they themselves put animals to sleep at some of their own facilities. Go figure.
