Do-Gooders are very good at this - as well as displaying their heart on their sleeves, and pointing their finger at others that they consider beneath their moral high ground. Rome fought a war that lasted almost 70 years against Carthage and when they finally won, I think it was about 146 B.C., the city was utterly destroyed and the population sent into slavery. Ostensibly, this was to serve as an example of what would happen to any given city who would resist Rome too strongly. Another city that was destroyed was Corinth, the year later and for the same reasons.

I really don't see what this has to do with 9/11 or the Reichstag...

i know your town, worked on 17th and 3rd, and lived in rockaway in the 70's, it sucks, all cities suck.

The crime rate in New York is now the LOWEST of any of the large American cities. This is partially due to the Roe vs. Wade legalization of Abortion in the early 1970â??s, which reduced the amount of unwanted children that would turn to crime. The departure of Mayor Dinkins and his administration, in 1993, ushered in the better-run admin. of Rudolph Giuliani - and the extra security forces, since 9/11, have also reduced crime.

Okay, you got me. i was being just a little sensational. but dont you agree that there are more productive things for the police to do than hang around and bother people rushing to get on with their lives? i dont know...say handling murders and assaults and child abuse? For the people out there that are wondering about the REAL situation in NYC: there are no jackbooted Nazi-thug cops running wild. We have some serious security, but Iâ??ve seen the same things in Europe in recent years â?? even more so. Military cops with Uzis in the airport in Holland? Yup, but I donâ??t remember hearing anything on here about that - or Heathrow, and many other places. The dangers that had to be dealt with in the airports are now relevent in the other systems of transportation - here, and elsewhere.

its always in incriments. not even the current administration is crazy enough to just order soldiers and guards to take over...thered be too much loss of life and money on either side.

the trick is to allow it to grow...bit by bit... and then as we all get used to seeing cops with uzis in the parks and get more comfortable with them handling crime, then the idea will be to take us with minimal resistance.

you hunt in supermarkets, buying hormone injected meat and pesticide ridden vegetables, that will not help you get old.

The amount of pesticides in supermarket vegetables is very negligible, and actually kills bacteria and molds â?? not people. I donâ??t eat much meat, but usually get beef from shops and delis that are kosher â?? not for religious reasons, but just because itâ??s better.

The biggest detriments to my health my whole life have been caused by consuming grains that contain gluten. I have celiac disease and have been undernourished, anemic, and had other symptoms as a result for much of my life. I expect to have a healthy future, which, by the way, was not a possibility before I discovered I had the disorder. My blood pressure is â??normalâ?�, I have a slight mitral valve prolapse that has no health risk, and my weight is fine. I DO like to live near good medical care, even though a number of doctors did not help me.

Rural-living people do not live longer, or healthier than â??cityâ?� people. We can stay in shape and eat right just as well as those in the country. It is a mistaken belief that living in the â??countryâ?� means a longer, healthier life.

The main reason I want to leave New York City after (early) retirement is because of the very real threats of terrorist attacks. They HAVE done it before, and are vowing to do worse next time. If they get hold of a "dirty" bomb, they'll use it.

New York is a great place â?? especially at night: Great-looking women, great music, art, and culture from all over the world. What do the radical Islamists want to do? Destroy it all! I wouldnâ??t shed a tear if every single one dropped dead tomorrow. Hopefully, we will rid ourselves of this scourge of human garbage before itâ??s too late. it may be because you shave, i believe that harms becoming humans, it is there and growing for a reason, it will not make you clean by taking it off.
it may be because you walk on such a hard surface all day long, that really hurts your body and will kill it eventually.
maybe it is the foul air you have to breathe, or the screams of wailing sirens, it may even be the fear that surrounds you, maybe cause you never see the sky and are the centre of your universe.
