I'm reading Pride and Prejudice at the moment. God; I have a lot of favorite books. I'm going to have to go with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Haven't read it in years, though.. I heard the movie was great. Favorite writer.. hm.. Edgar Allen Poe and Charles Dickens are among my favorites. I like to read about anything that peaks my (ever changing) interest(s) at the moment, or anything good really. Anything that can keep me interested.

A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking will blow your mind.
Catch 22 by Joseph Heller will have you in fits of laughter (and confusion) right from the start.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy, A Trilogy in Five Parts by Douglas Adams, for the same reason.
The Shining by Stephen King will scare the crap out of you... as will most of his works.
The Dark Tower series, also by Stephen King,will keep you reading right to the last page of the seventh book.
The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, though aimed at a younger audience than the others, is far easier to get stuck in to and is pure story all the way.


As you can see, I love to read.

You did recommend those, but maybe you just meant the first one. All five are hilarious.

Have you read any of Douglas Adams' other stuff? The Dirk Gently series? I've only read The Long Dark Tea Time Of The Soul. It's a great book but nowhere near as funny as the Hitchhiker series.

If you like Douglas Adams then you'll love Catch 22 by Joseph Heller, if you haven't read it already. It's slightly harder going than the Hitchhiker series, but written much more eloquently.. and it's alot more confusing. And - dare I say it? - alot funnier at times.

I am reading Trance-formation of America by Cathy O'Brien & Mark Phillips at the moment.

No particular favorites.

I do not have a favorite writer either. I guess maybe Oscar Wilde.

I like reading about the ''Shadow Government", ''drug'' experiences, philosophy, and poetry/music lyrics if that counts. Anything you might not hear everyday is interesting.

I don't know of any books that a stoner might enjoy, the ones I know(in real life) don't read. Some people may enjoy The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley. Although it is not about marijuana. Maybe various books about the true face of government may be of interest.

I wasn't aware of any other works by Douglas Adams. I figured that was the only thing he did. I've heard good things about Catch 22; didn't know it was very humorous though. I'm not concerned about reading level, and I'll look into it. Anything by someone capable of being funnier than Adams is a must read.

I love to read and read anything. There's nothing better than smoking a fatty on a hot summers day and sinking into a good book. At the mo I've just finished reading Man & Boy by Tony Parsons. A great read, but have your tissues ready!

The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley. Although it is not about marijuana.

The influence of The Doors's (the band) name. Isn't it about mescaline? Never got around to reading that one. Heard of Brave New World? I enjoyed 1984 by George Orwell a lot more. I think that's where the "Big Brother" term was coined. You should check that one out.

1984 is an amazing book. It's very scary.

I'm obsessed with Bret Easton Ellis. He's one of my favourite writers along with Irvine Welsh and Chuck Palahinuik. His books don't always make the most sense, but i like that.
