Need to know: Do mothers smell?

Hello people,

I'm almost finished building my cabinet.

Upong having it erected, I noticed that if I use the entire cabinet for my SCRoG setup, I will -obviously- have more space for my bud growth.

Here's my dilema: Initial plans of my box called for dividing it so I would have a small 'mother room'. This mother room would measure aproximately 7"x20"x2.5'

Now, because I would like to have as much space as possible for the SCRoG, I was thinking about NOT building the division for the mother room. So, what I would do, is have the mothers outside the cabinet.

Still with me? Good.... My question: Do mother plants smell? If kept them always 18/6, so they don't flower, would they smell?

My cabinet will have its exhaust air go through a carbon filter... so the smell from the SCRoG wouldn't be a problem. I'm concerned about having the mothers outside, and they smelling too much.

Please advise.

Well, it depends on the strain.. but from what I've heard....LOL

they all smell... espcially in warmer temps... people will say thngs like..

damnyour dog stinks like skunk, you should wash it"

Thanks for the input Garden.... I'm waiting on the answer from you guys.... depending on what you tell me, tomorrow I finish my cabinet.

Do the smell a little or do they reek half a mile away?

Like Garden knowm said, it depends on the strain. A potent strain could have a very strong smell. I do not think it would reek half a mile away, if you are not using a vent system and are growing more than 5-10 plants, GOODLUCK.

Thanks for the replies... I was thinking of having two mothers... for growing two different strains. Those strains would be White Russian and Bubblelicious...

Ideas? ???

I'm not trying to evade reality here, I mean, fuck it... my initial plans called for a divided grow box... But seeing all that space... yikes... I want it all for my SCRoG!!! LoL

In any event, I'll build another small box... Now that my genius brain bought about 3 times as much wood as I really needed...

turtle, what are u going to do about the smell when flowering, are u buying a carbon filter or making a carbon scrubber or something

I'm making a carbong scrubber... I'm building a very similar one to the Overgrow FAQs... ( http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/1509 )

Again, I have no worries for the smell coming from the grow room (with the SCRoG setup)... my concern would be the mothers... Do the mothers, that are not flowering, do they smell too much?

I thought it over and I think I'm going to build another cabinet for the mothers... Like I said, I don't know where, how or why, but I bought about 3 times as much wood as I needed... Now, I'm going to build a TV stand... a bookshelf... a small bedside table... etc.

ive had 10 plants no bigger than 8 inches in veg...never any smell...but only a little grow

is this carbon scrubber at overgrow's faq that ur going to make, is it kept outside the flowering chamber and the air from inside blown into it or the other way round ?
