hm no, well it was made illegal in different countrys for different reasons surely? i heard in the uk it was because they made some pathetic link from cannabis to harder drugs, but thats just what i heard from some random unreliable source in my head.. lol

How did Weed first get banned?

All the shit about brain damage and psychosis..
I read a while ago that it was to do with World War I, soldiers were just getting high instead of doing their duties, so it was outlawed for that main reason..
I haven't got any other ideas about it, or know for sure so maybe you could look it up on google or something!

How did Weed first get banned?

I am writing a paper on it and it is now 3 years. Some skint facts seem to be on these messages. I would direct you to http://www.jackherer.com and read his stuff online. If you are American it was a conpiracy of bankers, chemical and oil companies that held the government so they just passed a law in the 30's, appointed a son in law to lifetime enforecer and killed their competition.

As to the Brit part, well it was really Spain that brought the first evil drug laws. They were imposed on the Phillipines. It was for opium. The US took the Philipines in the Spanish American war and inherited the laws. They found out opium was imported from Hong Kong and therefore an international problem and did the first big international meeting (called for by a Catholic priest in charge of the law, I think the bastard was from Wisconsin!) in Hong Kong. That is where the Egyptians forced them to add cannabis to the drug agenda. It was competing with tobacco and cotton and had to go. The meeting went on to Zurich and etc. It was there that Anslinger, son in law to Mellon Bank (funders and holders of Dupong, Rockefeller oil and banks, Hearst papers and more, the same guy is Secretary of the Treasury, talk about insider stuff. There is so much more makes me sick.

I still can't believe the world we live in today - it's sometimes so blatant someone is fucking us over and for some reason I can't be bothered to fully explore. How is it that you can die from alcohol and tobacco legally but marijuana is not legal - EVEN where it grows naturally!?!

And I'm sure this has been argued a bazillion times on here and in places across the world but someone WANTS it to be illegal just so they can make a fat profit. Anyone else agree??

It doesn't make sense, the way we approach cannibus (cannibis).

Think of what would happen if we threw all the Dogs in jail.
    Or Pigeons.
    Or Lithuanian-Americans.
    Or Salmon.
    Or Pine Trees.
    Or Corn stalks.
    Or Rosebuds.
    Or Cannibus (Cannibis).

Doesn't make sense to ban an entire species from the Earth (or, most countries).

I'm not 100% sure why MJ was made illegal, but I know that the 30's government made a propaganda film known as "reefer madness." If you have seen the film, they claim that MJ leads to insanity, wild sex orgies, among other b.s. shit. So I am guessing, as someone said, they think it leads to physcosis and mental illness.

I think the main reason government keeps it illegal, despite all of the facts and reports about hopw benificial MJ really is, is because they know anyone can grow it, and make profit from it. They don't get tax cuts from peoples private crops. They don't make any money from it, so why should anyone else.

MJ is also widely used as a medication as well. If they were to legalize herb and let people grow it to help them, the government will lose big time money from regular prescription drugs. They lose money, they get a wage cut, now those greedy fuckers can't do that now can they. They'd rather have money than knowing that they can help people without any ill side effects. Then again, that is how most of the world works.

    I'm done Peace
