i'm on a mac now. it's my first computer. i have to deal w/ windows every day, and i won't say i hate pcs, but i REALLY like my mac.
the fun of the ipod for me is using it in conjunction w/ itunes.
plus i can back up all my data onto it. it's more than an mp3 player; it's a sweet lil' hard drive.
....and i am SO not looking cool, whether i'm carrying my ipod or not.

I think apple have a lot to answer to with these ipods ive had 2 now and they have both been faulty. As we speak I have a pink ipod mini lying on my desk that wont charge at all

I hate it for you. But Apple is no different than any other company in that it's gonna have some faulty devices shipped. If you look at their message boards, you see a lot of unhappy users.....
...but they're the (vast) minority.
I'm not saying it doesn't suck to get bad gear, but it sounds more like you had bad luck, getting a individually faulty device (or two), as opposed to buying a terrible product.
some friends of mine can't get their ipods to charge if it's hooked up to their PC. i've never had probs getting my pod to charge on my mac.

If your buying an MP3 player because your on the move a lot, or you dont have the space for all your cd's ok thats all in good reason but buying one too look cool is fucking stupid -.- everytime I see my friend Matt in his truck I call him an iFag, he bought a truck with a 10 cd changer and XM radio but he went out and bought an iPod so he could plug it into his truck and listen to...the music he ripped off the CD's he had in his truck before. So since 10+ people from there message boards have had problems with there IPod and so have 2 of your friends, BUT you didn't...that dosn't make there product shitty at all? Sounds like a shitty product to me and your just glad you got one that works.God I hate IPods.

Yes, there is a "cool" factor assoc. w/ the ipod, but are close to 10 mil, maybe more, going to be sold if they r a terrible product?
And let's face it: this is the player that showed all other companies that it's a viable market to be in.

Besides, i had some pod-envy too before i got mine.
