I spent many years in Alaska, so I understand cold. The easiest, most logical thing to do in your situation is to use a grow tent, as you suggested, and create your own environment no matter where you are. That’s the real beauty of a grow tent in my opinion. The portability, the easy assembling and disassembling of the tent, the way you can manipulate the interior “weather” to match the preferences of anything you decide to grow in the tent. But there are significant differences in brands.

I have had two Homebox tents. The new one I am currently using has all the latest innovations built in, not the least of which is the reinforced, heavy-duty zippers. Unlike other brands that look like the Homebox grow tent and still rely on the same old cheap, weak zippers that pull apart after only a relatively few uses, the new Homebox has been put together to last!

Anyway, there’s my .02 worth. A grow tent is a good thing to own. A Homebox grow tent is a wonderful thing to own!

Nothing like customer satisfaction, is there? *grin*

Happy growing and good luck mate!
