That statement is void, since nuance is necessary in every aspect of daily life. The Bible holds many truths, and that is apparent for everyone to see. Turning the other cheek, the good samaritan.. If you don't misinterpret things the Big book is a pretty peaceful guide with a lot of respect. A minority of the scriptures can be interpreted as being offensive, too violent or disrespectful, but it was written for people to have respect for pretty much everything around them.

Now read My Struggle by Hitler.
Conduct the same objective research you did on the Bible. First of all, the obvious majority of what he wrote was pure nagging, and counter-productive bullshit, based on common belief, which he loved to abuse and turn against them. Some ideas were indeed useful, coherent and needed. But isn't that normal? Even the greatest manipulators need some truthful material to depend upon. Cloaking their bad intentions with shady statements. I'm afraid to say Bush might be guilty of that too, but not in such an inhuman way.
For example, his opinion on the Jews leaves no room for interpretation. Extermination isn't the prettiest rule, right?
