    pink floyd ripoffs

you guys just have to except that this happens over the generations of music.

You must except you have to let go of pink floyd and the who,

for now EMO and Numetal must take over and repaint the face of rock.

Except that things always change, and when we are old our music shall be ripped off by the next generation, Its an ongoing cycle.

Im i the only person excited by new music? I cant wait to see whats on the air waves in 15 years!!

Coz if you ask me, Pop and Rock are dead. New music must be made.

Its just a case of what you were brought up listening too, People said the same thing about your music.

remake is not bad. i mean yea groups can fuck up the song, but its just the way they feel it.

Ok the piano part at the beginning is kinda long but when Thom starts to sing he makes the song sound creepy and decayed. I'm talking about Radiohead's version of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" It makes the song go from it's awsome original form of one of Pink Floyds greatest and most popular songs and transforms it into a scary and creepy song that would make marilyn manson hide under his covers.

On a personal note, I know nothing.

When some one does a cover song, its either of 2 things... they acnt think of shit else to do, or they did it because they love the song..

Tribute to Ramones was a pretty decent cd which had multiple bands doing Ramone covers; Offsprings - I Wanna Be Sedated ; Is a good example.

I personally, my top 10, have 2 songs of Pink Floyd in there. The Trial from the Wall album.. I must have watched that part of the Wall movie so many times..

What pisses me off more than a shitty cover song is taking a good classic rock song and turning the beat into a rap song.. like Crazy Train... everytime that song hits my random playlist.. I think of the rap version and immdiatly change the song

Mullmaniac, there's no heart in Jimi's cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower"? Because, in my opinion, this is the greatest cover of all time and clearly defines the role of a cover. It shouldn't be play the song straight through, because that's boring and offers no incentive to listen to anything but the original. The role of a cover is to take the song and make it your own, like Jimi did. Everything in the recording, from the acoustic's strumming rhythm, to the delivery of the lyrics, to (of course) the landmark solo is so distinctly Jimi, even though it's a Dylan song. The result is that is takes the original to new heights and becomes a completely different artistic statement altogether.

A of course the shitty brick in the wall cover by korn...
Covers are never as good as the original imo.....maybe if you dont like the original very much then you might like a cover....who knows?? ohho ohohoohhh

The other day i was sitting on the bus and there was a what sounded new, pop cover of a pink floyd song i cant remember what it was exactly but it was either comfortably numb or wish you were here....it was shit....but id quite like to know who it is by if any body knows.....
