    as far as I know, ghost is ghost in esperanto, but I may be wrong. It's a german cognate, which normally transliterates into esperanto. too bad esperanto sux.

    That's what I thought, and that's what I found when using a couple of different online translaters. Thanks for confirming it.

    Well, you should be wary of online translators; however, the only experience I've had with esperanto came from my quiz bowl teacher's obsession with it, and I was just guessing from what I remembered (He talked a LOT about it), so don't accept me as an authority.

    The word for ghost is fantomo, which is related to the English word phantom and the French fantôme.

    Umm, no. The German word is Geist, which is indeed a cognate of ghost, but no such word exists in Esperanto. Only a minority of Esperanto's vocabulary comes from German. Most of it comes from the Romance languages. Also, any particular reason you think Esperanto sucks?
