Dude, if that were true, then why wouldn't natural selection adapt our stomachs to compensate for the swallowing of the harmful chemical? Plus, there isn't a whole lot of chemicals that can truely destroy the mucus lining of your stomach. That's the point of it. where did you hear this?

I heard it on a news programming, can't remember if it was local or not. I think it meant that the more we swallow the excess "drool" your cheeks create, the more it will harm our stomach. I guess they discovered a poison secreted by our cheeks. Obviously, it's not acid, but I think it is acidic. If anyone is interested, they could find out what the hell I'm talking about.
