Cooking with cannabis?

Can you cook with small amounts of weed? I have a recipe for bud butter and I would really like to try it out, but I don't wanna waste any weed. The recipe says to use an oz, and I know you can use less than that, but what about like a gram or two of some high mids? Will it work or do you need more than that?

BTW for a small dose it might be best to do a firecracker Youll find the recipe there. If not search for it viathe forums up there^^^
