    soil to hydro(bubbler)

just a question.i have a 2 week old plant, started from seed, really healthy that is in soil, under cfl's. how do i transfer it to my bubbler. is this method alright : i'll take tha plant with the soil on the roots (taken off of the pot), pu it in a mesh pot, and run lots of water gently through it to clean all the dirt off the roots. does it even matter if there is a little dirt left. and once in the mesh pot, do i just put like expanded clays as a medium or whatever. and whats a good veg. nutrient for hydro.thanks you guys.

I suggest you use Lava Rock for your meshpot... this is the type of rock used in propane-fired BBQs... it's very 'rough' rock and very porous.

As to the transplant, I trully don't know. But may I suggest that you sing to your plant while you're doing the operation? It would definitely help!

The grow rocks are about the same thing as Lava rock just smaller and man formed.

It is ok to transplant, just make sure you are very careful. I would suggest getting a bucket of water and gently dripping the plant into the water. If there is a little bit of soil left it shouldn't present a problem.

But, with the 1" nute level in the res./bubbling bucket, will lava rock provide the nutes to the roots? Shouldn't a ratio of vermic. and lava rock be OK, like 4 parts rock and 1 part vermic.????????

You don't want to add vermic to a bubbler with rocks. It's rocks only. Clean the root ball well, Put the roots at the bottom of the pot and gently fill with rocks. Make sure the roots have contact with the water. Use a half strength weak nute.
