Pen hitters are fine, as long as the bowl is far enough out of the way of the pen and you only light the bowl you have nothing to worry about.

I made a little homemade bong and I used a plastic pen tube for the stem thing the weed burnt in a ratchet bit but the inside of the tube is brown ands wavy looking. I fear the plastic is melting and going in me. Can smoke melt plastic? Its going through water so i figure if there is plastic it will cool and harden in the water but i dont know. Rating: 5

all of my homemade bongs i use pen tubes for the stem mine never melt i use that and connected to a bottle cap n then just use foil over the top of that to put the weed on nothings ever has melted for me
