    Filtered water for NFT hydro...

    Hello people,

    Question: Should I filter the water in my hydro NFT setup?

    I realize I would be changing the water every 5-7 days...

    Just a question. Would it help? Will I 'filter out' the nutes?

    Thanks for the input!

    You only want to use a screen not really a filter. You just want to keep the feed lines clear so they don't get clogged and then stop feeding the plant.

    NP I do try to give other members a chance to answer first. Most of the time I only post if there is wrong information posted that needs to be cleared up or if other members are not answering in a timely manor.

    Happy growing

    That's good man... Thank you very much Zandor.

    I see now that you're a Moderator... Well, I say to you - the Moderators - and to the rest of the Cannabis.com community:

    Everyone @ Cannabis.com, thank you very much for everything. It's a very cool community we've got here. Friendly people with an urge to help people... the urge to be helped usually lasts for 30 minutes (after that, the questions have been answered).

    Nice work everyone on doing your part. Like that guy that was shit-talking without a basis... telling this other guy that was trying to sell some seeds, that he was scamming people. I laughed so hard when I saw that he was 1.Warned, 2. Terminated. Buttwipe.

    Anyways, keep up the great work everyone! I hope we can all have a big fat MoFo spliff passing by us all.... Bob Marley Reggae @ The Park Spliff! Filled up with all kinds of crops, strains, hashes, oils, buds, leaves, nutrients, anti-nutrients, enzymes, etc, etc.

    I'm out!

    Ok, NEW QUESTION on this old thread...

    Should I filter the water coming out of my faucet? This is the water I'm going to use for my hydro system...

    Should I have a filter to filter-out the impurities? Chlorine and stuff like that?

    I was @ Sears yesterday, and scanning for water filters I found a simple one and it costs about $270 !!! WHAT THE FUCK???

    Do the plants really need water that filtered? I mean, I ain't going to put crap into the system, but I'm unsure as to how 'clean' the water should be.

    Thanks for the input... I'm awaiting on your response to see what the hell I do...

    Good day everyone!

    Most people use RO (reverse osmoses) water from start to finish. Most tap water has many chemicals that can slow plant growth or even kill young plants. Chlorine and many other minerals common in tap water are not good for your plant.

    You can get a good RO system from eBay for less then 100 bucks delivered if you just look around a little. But that is a drinking type of filter. Plant RO filters have different membranes and filters and leave in some minerals the normal drinking RO process removes that is why plant RO systems cost more. (so the manufacture say anyway)

    The other thing you need to know about store bought or even home made RO drinking water is you need to put back some minerals back into the water to make it the best for plants. Thatâ??s why you add CalMag Plus to your RO drinking water it replaces the minerals the RO process removes.

    Ok, update:

    I searched in eBay, and there are a lot of filters out there... thankfully, there are a couple for under $100. But I see two main distinctions,
    FILTER type1 --> Reverse Osmosis
    FILTER type2 --> RO + De-Ionized Filter

    Any ideas? Will type1 work fine? Better question: Will type2 be the best?

    I thank you for your help
