It's that tree bark that can be made into tea or just chawed on. It is a hallucinogin. Some tribe in africa or somthing uses it for spiritual stuff.

i read about it in black hawk down...all the somalians chewed it and that is a contributing factor to americas success in getting out the troops they depolyed cos by nighttime as a result of khat they burnedout completely and most went to sleep

Iv had khat untold times,it tastes like crap and its like speed it keeps u up for days and can make u aggressive and jumpy and shit like that - where i live some of the somali boys chew it and so do all the somalian cabbies on night shift!!
