Hushmail?
I don't know how many of you use Hushmail. I've had quite a few Hushmail accounts; I get them for different reasons but then it takes so much longer to log in to the site that I don't use it that often and then after a couple of weeks my account expires, so next time I need it I just make a new one...
The reason it takes so long to log in is that first of all you type in your email address in the box on the home page, then every time you log in it takes you to a page that's asking you to upgrade to a premium account, like they don't like people having free accounts. To skip that shit you have to click a link on that page, and you're taken to a new page which says something about how the applet is loading, please wait, it may take up to three minutes. So you sit there for fuck knows how long, depending on the speed of your internet connection, until, finally, a box pops open asking if you can trust the source, or something, so you click yes. Then you're taken to another page which asks for you to 'enter your passphrase'. Then, finally, you can check your inbox. Compared to hotmail this takes way too long, and of course you can check your hotmail account without ever having to log in, just sign in to MSN.
Anyway, so I was wondering... Hushmail is supposedly secure, and alot of people (especially people in the mail order business and such) ask you to use a hushmail account to communicate with them, or they use one themselves. But is it actually secure? How do we know that all this encryption engine stuff isn't just bullshit? It might just be a normal email providor, they just make it appear to be really safe by using words like passphrase instead of password and 'authenticate' instead of 'OK'.
I would imagine that the chances of anybody actually being able to intercept or trace your hotmail account are extremely low.. so why go to the hassle of using something so crap as Hushmail?
So, what do you guys think?GHoSToKeR Reviewed by GHoSToKeR on . Hushmail? I don't know how many of you use Hushmail.
