A good way to clean bowls (that are a bitch to clean) is filling a large cup with hot water. As hot as your faucet can get. Then pour the water through it over the toilet. It will probably take two, or three, cups. But, a hell of a lot comes out in the toilet and then you have the option to scrape it, which is very easy because the resin left in it is already loosened up.

I, actually, clean all my stuff this way. I used to pay $5 a bottle for this stuff called "Grunge off" that they sell at a head shop here. This way works just as well. Plus it's free! A toothbrush is great to clean steamrollers with, but I've not found many 'steamroller' owners.
