Hello Bill Believe me love I know what guys are like, when it comes to fiddiling around with things I have four older brothers and they were always getting some new hobby and buying loads of stuff for it, then falling out with it .....having spent a fortune on it (they still do ).

One of them got into radio hamming ? or whatever it is ?. Anyway he spent thousands on tranformers and whatnot ?, He fell out with it, I told him it would have been cheaper to just ring people on the phone

Like I always say "boys and their toys" .

Anyway my present crop is really doing quite ok, I've added a couple of pics for you. They are not quite three weeks old but the weathers getting cooler, summer has finished here so they will slow down a little over the next few months.
As for damaging them you're not on you're own, I've quite often accidentally broken the odd stem or branch well they get so tightly packed in there if I want to get one from the back, usually a male to get rid of it. Well I sometimes struggle and manage to disturb those at the front.

I always like to give them the best compost, then you can basiclly forget them, I just water them once a day. My grandad used to have an allotment for growing vegatables and a few flowers, he used to win shows with his produce, and he always used horse muck and made his own compost.
I used to spend hours there when I was little, so with a bit of luck maybe a little of his growing ability has rubbed off on to me

Bye for now, love mand xxx
