An added thought to Trummels post...
THC is indeed peaked in the darkness. However the dark benefits do not stop there. during your harvest, trim, dry and cure....darkness is still important.
Light will act to degrade the THC and thus a plant harvest properly after the night period will suffer if dryed, cured in light.
Storage should always be done in darkness.

Hello Trummel, Harddon
Intresting posts, I really do read the different ways and methods, I think it sounds worthwhile try a dark period before the next harvest. Well I tend to cut them at different times so if I try the dark period on the last ones, that will give me something to make a comparrasion with.
Thanks guys

to solve this instead of doing guesswork, we have always had more than one growing chamber with the same strain, so it was pretty easy for us to estimate a week before harvest to set one in complete darkness (we never decided weeks in advance when to do that.. such decisions can only be made when looking at the plants on time and estimating their ETH (estimated time of harvest)
whenever the same strain in the regular 12/12 chamber was ready we started harvesting both..
we could have varied this phase, but to be honest we're lazy suckers, and once we start harvesting, we wanted to finish everything in "one" go and not having to restart over again (which we had to do anyhow because of multiple locations)
sorry bill, i don't have much info on re-vegging, because at that time clones were legal in austria (they're not anymore) and we had no trouble getting them.. well actually i was the one selling them to multiple friends (so they didn't care, and i got some money off the clones) and we always "re-filled" the spots right away
by the way, i fully agree with harddon on the "light" factor, but it's pretty hard to harvest, trim etc. in the complete dark.
here one of those red lights that are also used for film- or photo-labs can help (low wavelenght and it's easy on the eyes.. might take you 10 minutes to get fully adapted, but then you'll see pretty clear), or, if you have the money for some "toys for boys" you could use nightvision-goggles as we did once (and they ARE fun if you're moving around in a house that's completely dark)

by the way, not to get my posting wrong, of course we didn't use the nightvision goggles to harvest, we "just" used them to walk around parts of a house we were growing in during the dark cycle, but i guess harvesting using them could be fun as well..

Light degrades THC.
Expose your stuff to as little light as possible from harvest to smoke

well tried the dark for four days on six plants in soil. They all showed significant frosting increase especially on four of the six. The other two seemed to flourish and had a bit more frosting but gave me the feeling they may not have been close enough to harvest. Five of the six were ones the thieves had mangled and it is hard to get a good estimate of the trichomes because it appears the trichs have lost alot of the spheres off there stems(which I assume is from being man handled) lots of trich stems many look like hooks but limited spheres.? But all in all I would say the 4 days of dark did wonders. Put the two back in flower along with two that frosted alot and harvested the other two frosted to get some comparisons. Biggest problem now for me seems to be determining when the plant is close to harvest time??? The Dark period before harvest DOES work!! Thanks Trummel and Hardon for the really good info.
Peace
Bill

Great thread...Bill, Theives?...being out of town, I missed it...What happened, If it is long and drawn out, just direct me to the post, thanks, glad to here about your frost.
I also leave my harvest in the dark prior to chopping 3-5 days, as stated above, when I get the feeling that they are ready...just my $.02
