    CPU
misleading,SPE's have no branch prediction and can only handle speacialized data(ie vector processors) vector processes are about %20 of all game processes left to the CPU,rest is general data, vector processors speed slows down by %80,which means AI and physichs(general data) will be run on something similar to a 640mhz processor that can do 7processes at once

xbox360 side of the story is that it does have branch prediction, and they are general proccesors so they can tear through AI and physics code like butter, one might say it lacks vector capabilities but each of its 3 FULL FLEDGED PPC CORES(read spes arent full cores)have a VMX-128 unit for vector processing and allows the cpu to take a much less major hit on preformence

    memory

xboxs 512mb of shared 700mhz ram may be slightly lacking compared to the 256mb 3.2ghz ram in bandwith department(specs show the 3.2ghz ram is on like a few GBps on xbox in bandwith)but the ram is high latency, and if ps3s cell has to make a call to the video memory it has to go through a north bridge to the gpu to the memory and back, where as xbox cpu and gpu can directly changed any data in the ram at any time without this latency loss

    storage
not much here, neither console is standard HDD so it affects almost nothing

    Display
sony-very misleading, sony did not say any game had to do any resolution what so ever, its up to the devolper to decide if they even want to go HD,and further more PS3 physically doesnt have the videp memory bandwidth to do 1080p not to mention 1080i
microsoft-720p is required by devs, this was stated, another thing is 4xAA is also automatically accomplished by the GPU,the onboard EDRAM has 256GBPS of bandwith and can handle Z-buffers without the main video ram being bottlenecked which is an extreme preformence booster, consider that that high resolutions AF,and AA can be used with less then 1/3 preformence hit then what would normally occur

    Network
sony has 360 here on this one no lie, wifi isnt standard on 360

    audio
no detail, but yes both do 5.1

    disc media
sony-blueray does have lots of storage capabilites(well over 50GB can be on a disc) but 1x speed blueray drives are hard to produce now,95% chance ps3 will have a 1x drive, this creates tranfer speed issues thus loading issues and with no standard harddrive this is a big down

xbox-DVD9 yes can only use 9GB,but devs havent really complained any media can be compressed to fit this, majority xbox games only used 4GB and over the years it has shown that roughly from generation to generation the storage used doubles so most games will probably be 8GB in size,of course theres an anonomly of games that will use more

blu ray has a native transfer speed of 54Mbps (6.75MB) while DVD has a native speed of 11.1Mb (1.3875MB) thus it appears at first glace that the bluray drive in the Ps3 will have a transfer rate of almost 5x that of the x360, but wait, thats not true. the x360 drive runs at 12x effectively bumping that to 133.2Mb or 16.65MB nearly 3x faster than that of first gen bluray at 6.75MB.

    Which X360 will you get?

    forgot graphics

sony here is doing an odd approch, they are leaving the polygons processes up to the CELL insted of the GPU,this in turn means more load being put on an already struggleing processor, less room for advanced AI and physics

sony essientially is doing just what happend with ps2

ps2-claimed to be able to produce toy story graphics(basically render, like you know movies like shrek,no way playable)
ps3 is set up where the cell is going to be able to take polygon freeing up the gpu for more beautiful visiuals, basically THEY WANT PRETTY TECH DEMOS

as far as the gpus go,ps3 better shadeing capabilities, xbox better PLAYABLE graphics

so looks like in short...the xbox 360 will be better if you like shorter load times, better PLAYABLE graphics, and better games (mine and the majority will agree with me on the games part). Xboxy360 will be better.
