Guerilla Growing Question

After over 20 years of smoking I want to start growing but can't really do it in my house or my yard. There's tons of open land around here though so there are a lot of opportunities for guerilla growing. My question regards water needs. I'm in San Jose Califonia and from about April to late October we have no(and I mean no) rain. So, how much water do plants need? Will watering every 4-5 days be ok? I've also though about rigging up some kind of battery operated automatic watering system. Anyone ever do anything like that?

well ive herd of putting buckets in the trees with a quarter inch hole in the bottom to drip on the plants paint the pales black or green and try to plant near a water source ie river pond lake stream somewhere where u can get water from other then bringing it with u from home dig holes in the fall and prepare the ground with soil and worm castings or just a good soil and cover the holes with peat moss or plywood with sticks over top so the winter monthes dont fuck up the soil when spring comes around u uncover ur holes and simpliy put ur seedlind in the holes and water 4-5 days is enough but try whatever u want want 4 a watering system i also herd of many farmers using water hoses buried in the ground only to surface where the plant are so it easy to water just turn on the valve well good luck and i hope ive help u out a bit

u could make a drip system out of a 20 oz. soda bottle. just put a tiny pin hole down at the very bottom fill up with water and then put the cap back on. You can adjust the cap to how much water u want to come out. check on it like once a week for refilling and such.
