Ten Words Which Need To Be Banned10) Bimonthly. Nobody can agree whether it means twice a month or every two months, so it's a useless fucking word. Same goes for "biweekly".
 9) Aural. Another useless word. It means pertaining to the ears, but it sounds exactly like the word "oral" which means pertaining to the mouth.
 8) Pronounciation. There is no "pronOUnce" in "pronUnciation".
 7) Irregardless. This is a non-existent word and people use it exactly as they should use the word "regardless".
 6) Undernourished. Say "starving" instead. "Undernourished" people are starving. There's no need for a dehumanizing euphemism here.
 5) Utilize. Just say "use" you fucktard. I'm not impressed when you use an unnecessarily lonɡ word to describe a simple concept.
 4) Vagina. What a stupid-sounding word for such a beautiful thing.
 3) The prefix "narco-": narcotrafficking, narcoterrorists, etc. Just use the word "drug". Especially since those words are usually used for people who have nothing to do with narcotics like coke dealers (cocaine is not a narcotic).
 2) Terror, in the sense of "terrorism". Terror is an emotion. TerrorISM causes terror in people. They are two very different things. Get it straight, people.
 1) NUCULAR! Isn't it scary how Bush is in charge of what happens to our nuclear weapons and he can't even pronounce "nuclear weapons"?ermitonto Reviewed by ermitonto on . Ten Words Which Need To Be BannedAlright, well maybe they don't need to be banned per se, but it would definitely be a plus if they were phased out of the language.

Ten Words Which Need To Be BannedIt's called Newspeak, and it is based on the strong version of the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis, which has been largely discredited. It is now generally recognized that change in language does not correlate to a change in the thought patterns of the people using the language, so using a language like Newspeak to control thought is quite unrealistic. Languages are extremely flexible tools and people will use them to get across whatever concept they are capable of thinking, even if they have to invent new words for it.
