Yeah, use a stove.. I just mean on a "low" setting.. like don't crank it up, or the butter will burn and taste really weird.

You can also accomplish this with some water in the same pan.
Simmer it till the butter is green and strain it. Dont throw the mush out yet...repeat the simmer with some fresh butter and youll get a second batch of slightly weaker stuff.

You mean like what you use to melt chocolate? A pan filled with water, and then another pan with butter/weed in it? That's a really good idea.. would help to distribute the heat a lot easier..
