Anytime that you cut the plant,you are exposing it to diseases and pests..and the only time I would cut off a leaf,is if it's diseased or has pests on it,or to allow light to git to a bud underneath. Anytime you cut on the plant,it causes stress and shock,and could result in the plant going hermie and it will also increase the total amount of growing time needed,because you need to give it time to recover from the shock. There are other ways of camouflaging a plant,that doesn't cause shock and stress.
