Sometimes, you will see female 'pre-flowers' from those spots. They look like a pod with two whispy white hairs coming out. They can be hard to see, but when you see them, you will recognize them.
Sometimes this happens other times it does not.
I have never seen a male plant preflower.
As far as time frame, begin to look for these hairs on all the mid to higher level node sites. The search should begin around day 28 days of life.
Many times you will not know until you place them into flower stage full time and it takes anywhere from 4 - 14 days for the sex to show.
Even a plant that shows female preflowers can still be a hermie that hasnt shown what look like a bunch of bannanas coming from the nodes.HARDDON Reviewed by HARDDON on . how?? how can i tell the difference between a male and a female plant and how early/late will it be in the plants life before i can tell. im extremly novice at this but me and my friend got a sprout that looks healthy. it was planted about 2 weeks ago.
