Yeah.. I think that the main thing about not having any emotion was because war, jealousy, anger, sadness, etc., could all be stamped out "For the best of Mankind" (sound familiar?). Basically, you have to take a drug that makes you an automaton, so you don't experience any negative emotions, but you also don't experience any good emotions, like love, happiness, appreciation for beauty, etc. My favorite part was when he stopped taking his drug, and he opened up the window and looked out over the city, and was overcome by the beauty of it and started weeping. Awesome.

I also have a theory about real life as it relates to Equilibrium, if you're interested.
Hempamasta Reviewed by Hempamasta on . Equilibrium Anyone seen this movie? If you liked the Matrix, you would like this a lot.. it's a lot better, IMO. It reminds me a lot of A Brave New World.. very similar in most respects. But yes.. that movie owns. Very well made. It didn't really get very many good reviews, suprisingly.. but I thought it was pretty good. Rating: 5
