Anyone seen this movie? If you liked the Matrix, you would like this a lot.. it's a lot better, IMO. It reminds me a lot of A Brave New World.. very similar in most respects. But yes.. that movie owns. Very well made. It didn't really get very many good reviews, suprisingly.. but I thought it was pretty good.

Yeah it's a pretty cool movie, I like the scene at the end with the samuruia sword. The only bit I didn't like was the cheesy looking motorbike helmets the "bad guys" where.

Hmmmm.. it sounds familiar...
Is it the film where emotion is outlawed, and there are police who hunt down people who have been feeling emotions, but then one of the cops (the guy from American Psycho) starts feeling them himself and ends fighting a load of people?
Edit: Thanks to imdb i've found it, and yeah it's the one I thought. Pretty cool movie, though not overly impressive.
LOL, I like one of the user reviews on the imdb page for Equilibrium. "It was good." Haha!

It's too fucking depressing...I rented the DVD and tried to watch it twice...twice I stopped it at the dogs and puppies killing scene...and the rest of it was SOOOOOOOO depressing too...and it makes no sense...stopping ppl from feeling any emotion? Who would that act serve? I dun remember it too well but it seemed to me that there were some huge holes in the script too...nicely shot though and the action scenes caught my attention...

Yeah.. I think that the main thing about not having any emotion was because war, jealousy, anger, sadness, etc., could all be stamped out "For the best of Mankind" (sound familiar?). Basically, you have to take a drug that makes you an automaton, so you don't experience any negative emotions, but you also don't experience any good emotions, like love, happiness, appreciation for beauty, etc. My favorite part was when he stopped taking his drug, and he opened up the window and looked out over the city, and was overcome by the beauty of it and started weeping. Awesome.
