I have never seen a screen on a glass bowl.. This is pretty funny though.. The proper protocol is this, who ever supplied the weed and the pipe can dictate what the fuck they want.. You never complain when smoking someone elses weed.. Hood rules apply.. With that said, I have thought the same thing.. I was always using a metal pipe and when my friend switched to a glass pipe, I sucked down some ashes too thinking I had to pull hard..but his weed was fire and I learned quickly..
