What's with all the rap?
It's getting really annoying, I don't know if all you have noticed, but it seems more and more commercials are all using rap. All the fast food places, and clothing lines, and now as I just saw, even a milk commercial, they're all full of rap music. seems there's an excellerating number of companies all using this crappy music (crappy to my ears, don't get all worked up rap people!
) , I'm starting to get mighty tired of listening to nothing but crappy rap during commercial breaks. what do you think?

Ok...i love rap...but...seriously...rap these days SUCKS....
let me take you back in the day man...when 2pac, Snoop, Dr. Dre, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Eazy-E, DJ Quik, and Cypress Hill was poppin...the 90's man...90's rap was the shit!!! Thats still all I listen to...these days the rap is shit because we got people like 50 faggot cent, and all those stupid southern rappers who dont even have good lyrics....but...i think the dope west-coast rap is comin back....get the DJ Quik cd...you will like it!
P.S. You can never go against Bone Thugs...they are weed lovers like us...you dont even have to like rap to like them.

I dislike most rap since it promotes senseless violence, sexism, and the use of material goods or "bling" as a status symbol. These people claim to represent the impoverished ghettoes yet live it up in their mansions with their millions of dollars (which could easily be used to improve the conditions of those impoverished ghettoes, by the way).
Also, in general, rap songs don't have much of a real constructive message to express to its listeners. A lot of it is simply praise of intoxication, prostitution and material wealth. When they do try to address a real issue that has some significance, for instance the impoverishment of the ghettoes they claim to represent, they will only try to portray how bad things are while completely ignoring potential solutions people could take to fix the problem. Even if they had something thoughtful and insightful to say, the lyrics are spit out so fast that the listener has almost no time to reflect on it.
I have found a few exceptions to these general trends, but they tend to be bands which mix rap with some other music form, like Rage Against the Machine (rap/metal) and the Kottonmouth Kings (rap/punk).

as a matter of fact, outside the U.S., some hiphop stations play jay-z songs alongside mr. lif, MF DOOM, immortal technique and other underground (independent) artists.

I really despise new rap, too preppy and fake. All classic rap and hip-hop is what I like, something with an actual beat. The whole urban lifestyle was interesting to me, but i'm not gonna go out of my way to dress like a stupid looking white moron.
