Im a newb at growing and i want to know a couple things. Will Flouresent light bulbs work out well or do i need something else. Whats the light cycle for veging....i know what it is for flowering. Thanks

They will work, you wont get the best buds but it will work. Some people swear by it. They really dont have the right Lumens, or the right sprectum.. You really need a Metal Halide for Veg, and High Pressure Sodium for Flowering.. (of course someone else will tell you different).. You can veg 18/24 or 24/24.. some people swear by 24/24 others say there is a diminishing return.. I would say 18/24.. I am also a newbie, and I am realizing this an artform.. You have picassos and monets... Your gonna get a hundred answers, but you will get the help you need.. I say get HPS for aroun $120.00

whoaaaa 18/24? 18 hours of light then 24 hours of darkness? this is a new light cycle to me..

Personally i always suggest staying to a 24 hour light cycle. usually you start off with 18/6 then cut down to 12/12 for flowering. but always stay with a total of 24 hours in a day..

Fluorescents can have the correct spectrum if you purchase the correct spectrum but you'll only achieve enough lumens with multiple fluorescent bulbs. Would take 19 43 watt CFL's to equal one 400 watt hps in lumens and your power useage would be more with the CFL's.

Ooooopss I meant 18 out of 24 it should have read 18/6
