hey man, i just need to ask you a few questions as i may think about setting up a KBS system once i get my own place in a few months time.

1. u mention that plants will grow much better with about 2-4 lights, covering each side of the plant, how come you don't use reflective sheeting at all. Also would this product be ideal 2 use wiv the plants?........ http://www.basementlighting.com/light_rail.htm

2. a Co2 machine seems very expensive to buy, would you recommend something else? like Co2 tablets, home-made method? etc.

3. approx how much electricity would 4X400w HPS lights wiv both spectrums cost to run (on average wiv a grow room of 6 foot x 6 foot x 4 foot)

4. to set-up a professional grow room takes alot of work and as well alot of money, to buy fans, exhaused, air ducts, dehumdifiers, lights, hydro system etc etc. do you have any methods of setting up a cheap and easy grow room, but very effect too?

5. when u say that you use lava rock instead of rockwool, do you just place the seedlings straight into the lava rock after they have germinated, or do you use a different growing medium?

6. what neuts would you recommend to use for a hydro grow, using 5 gallon buckets, air pump etc etc.

7. is it worth buying feminised seeds for a KBS grow, or buy some seed soak, grow them and just take cuttings?

i hope this isn't too much but i wanna learn just that little bit more b4 setting up a pro-grow room. hope you can help me out, and thanks for your time.

Man you ask a lot of questions that have been answered thousands of times.

Some of the vets here get tired of the same questions and the same answers.

This is not to pick on you or your questions....its the nature of the people who simply dont want to read and research stuff first.

Personally I tire of answering even the most basic questions and won't do it if its one I have answered 1,000X...or if its answered in the FAQ section.

Really I think you would get a lot more help if you narrowed your list down to more reasonable numbers of questions and did a bit more reading...

Zandor might be tired today or not around...so when you post for a particular responder, you are limiting your field of potential respondants.

So you just need to wait.

In the meantime, you can use the advanced search feature and search your topics and zandors posts and find some of the questions that he and many others have expressed their views on previously.

for cost of your lights: 1600w x 18h a day equals: 28800 watts... your electric company charge per Kwh so 28.8 Kwh per day multiplied by lets say 30 days. I dont know whats the cost per Kwh there but here its like $0.06 per Kwh. So, 28.8 x 30 equals: 864 Kwh x $0.06 : $51.84 per months to run on average..

You don't take short cuts to KBS. You use the right equipment and only the right equipment. You use 600w or 1000w lights, track movers are fine for short runs to save money. You must use CO² either bottle or you make it with gas. You don't take short cuts when you grow KBS.

Get it that is the plant and light layout. If you are not a skilled Hydroponic grower you should not try KBS. It take a lot of money to grow big the rewards are big but the cost to start up is big and it will take you about 3 grows to work out all the bugs.

You need to give each plant 5 sqft of room to grow so plan big.

You are better off with clones then you are seeds. If you must use seeds then start them in peat moss and find a good mother and make clones. You don't want to use rockwool at all.

You do not want to spent time and money on KBS and grow boys that's too much work and money for nothing.

You need a good book dude there is a lot more to learn. KBS is not easy and not for the unskilled, sorry but that is how it is.

And with everyting I have going on I am only here once in the morning and sometime in the evening PST USA so it takes time for me or anyone else who has a life to answer sometime.

I agree with hardon, it is good to ask questions, but the first thing I did when I hit this site was spend a few days going through tons of posts. By the time I finished doing that, I had very little questions. Lets not be lazy here peps, Do you home-work first and then ask the questions that you didn't get from doing the research.

Not picking on anybody, just a general statement.

yeh i agree sorry 4 askin 'stupid' questions guys but i just wanted them unstood in my own personal way, ive had a look around on this website and yeh i am i wud say.......a novice hydro grower i kno all the ups and downs etc etc, i jus need to save a lil bit of cash and im gunna start 2 grow just 1 KBS at a time just 2 c how things go (to be honest i havent even got room for more than 2) but thanks for your help and i hope my grow goes well.
