    Hey mand,

I really like how you seem to come through with reply's for everyone. I think thats one of the things that make your threads really enjoyable. Anyways, i had 2 questions. First of all, is ventillation really needed? ive got a nice, dark dry room with an oscillating fan (not good with spelling when im high) that hits the wall and is not directly on the buds. But it has no venting. Do you think this will be a problem? Also, i have a few different HPS bulbs that all seem to be working fine when i put them in. Do you think although they are the same bulbs and they look as though they are working fine, this could be a reason i have droopy leaf tips? Ide like to see if a new bulb makes a difference.

    Thanks for your time

    -SS

    Just a little journal............

Hello Latewood I was thinking just yesterday about how many of the regular people on here have left since I joined
So it really is really lovely to hear from you, Thanks for dropping by love

Hello Buk , Oh they are tough little "buggers" , but you know what I have noticed, they seem to thrive on neglect.
I always compare them to a car I once owned, I used to have it serviced regularly, all the maintinance was kept up to date, I was always spending money on it, also I was always cleaning it ..................... and yet the dam thing was always breaking down on me
However the little old jeep I have now has never been serviced, it never recieve's any maintinace, as for cleaning it might have a bit of soapy water thrown over it once every "blue moon" and yet it just keeps going, never let me down yet
Kinda makes you wonder is the "neglect" policy and just leaving them to their own thing the better way with plants as well

Hello SittinStoney I'm sure ventilation is important as it is recreating outside conditions for the plants. However the only ventilation mine get are when I open the door for them in Summer
I reckon if you can provide them with some ventilation then that is great but if you can't then just carrying on growing, although watchout for the humidity levels in the Summer months

Oh dear the HPS bulbs, well I put mine in when switching to 12/12 and it appears to be working fine, but instant droop started. So Friday night I put the MH back in and after being under it for yesterday (Saturday) they have picked up no end.
I think it means that even though the bulb is not very old and it seems to be working fine, "it's had it's day" and I really have to get a new one, but I'm affraid they are just going to have to flower under the MH till I can afford
    one

I'll just add a few pics from this morning showing the difference after a day under the MH

Thanks guys ........................ love mand xxx

Haha, No i think you misunderstood. My grow room has GREAT venting, its the room that i dry them in that has no venting. I was wondering if that would make a difference on how they dry.

Thanks for your quick reply though,

Hello SittinStoney yes, I totally got the "wrong end of the stick" there

A nice dry dark room is fine, ventilation is good but they will still dry without it. Although without ventilation always be vigilant for "budrot", but from what you are describing, you shouldn't have any real worries about that

In summer I dry in a wooden shed in the garden, it's dry, dark and well ventilated, the buds dry quite quickly in there. In the winter I dry them in the pantry (it's an old house), it's dark and dry but cool with no ventilation. They dry fine but it takes several weeks .

Hey Mand. Just had to say that if you can afford to go bask on the beach for a week you can afford a new bulb!

Hello Marc I'm affraid it's basking on the beach that has helped make buying a new bulb at this present time even more difficult

For the next couple of months love I'm up to the neck in bills, I have the last instalment on the council tax, the water rates, the telly licence, the car breakdown/recovery renewal, the phone bill, electric and gas bill.......... just to name a few, it's the UK love prehaps one of the most highest cost of living countries in the world
I will however make sure that I have a nice brand new HPS blb for the next grow

Good to hear from you Marc, I hope you are well

Hello Scobbie Buxton it's a fair way off, but I have been there a few times when going into the Peak District.

Ok Scobbie, when you get to Castle Donnington Sunday market, there is only one entrance. As soon as you go through the entrance turn to you're left and just follow that row of stalls, at the first corner there is usually a butchers lorry on one side and a stall selling handbags and things on the other, keep going about 30 - 40 yards and on the left hand side is the stall you want. It's just a small stall but you can't miss it, it has Jamaican flags and Bob Marley type stuff hanging up, also there are usually lots of young lads wearing baseball caps looking at the seeds they can't affrord
The stall is run by a husband and wife couple, they are really friendly people, although he does seem somewhat "spaced out" most of the time :stoned:

They are always there unless the weather is really bad, also there are usually a couple of other stalls around the market that sell seeds.

A little grow update ................... the plants are looking much better under the MH, I am hoping to get a new HPS as soon has I can but if I have to finish this grow under the MH I'm not too worried as the bud reduction is something like about 10%, that's not too bad, I can live with that

I'll just add some pics so you can see the improvment ..............

    Hello Mand,

Yes, I can see the difference between the MH and HPS bulb that you've been talking about. They do look perkier.

Hope your still able to get a good crop out of it.
