I think its sad that some people need weed to be happy. I'm not judging anyone who is addicted, because I probably am myself to a certian extent, but making weed your top priority over everything else doesnt seem healthy to me. I smoke a lot of pot still, but have cut down because I dont want to have to depend on pot to help me normally function throughout the day.

As for the psychological/physical addiction part, as I've made known to ghostoker and others, in my opinion, when you have withdrawal symptoms from weed like nausea, insomnia, irritability, headaches, it is partly a physical addiction. this seems just logical to me that when you bombard your body with a substance for prolonged periods of time, then deprive it of that substance, your body will react in a negative way. And my body does, and I know other people have physical reactions when they stop taking pot, even though they may not be necesarily thinking about pot when they have these reactions.

As is the case with cigarettes, your body communicates with your mind that you need the drug by producing a craving. I think that with pot it tells you by not letting you get sleep, making you think about it, etc Its more subtle, but I think it works the same way. and yes, some people dont get addicted physically or psychologically to pot, but some people dont get addicted to cigs either after smoking a pack a day. I would just cut back if you feel you need weed all the time.
