Easing our drug laws will have the same ripple effect, or a better one, through out the states then threats would. The war is moving in our direction. Slowly, but it is turning. Actualy, the more I think about it, the more I think your plan could very well backfire against the movement. Sometimes ya gotta take risks to get what you want though, so who's to say one way or the other on the leaving the union thing.
